SiC-based power devices can provide higher levels of power conversion efficiency than Si-based power devices, mainly due to significantly lower energy losses and reverse charging losses. As a result, less switching power and less energy are required in the turn-on and turn-off phases. Benefiting from lower heat loss, cooling systems can also be eliminated, thus reducing space, weight, and infrastructure costs. The continuous deployment of the IoT and AI applications and their migration to the cloud make it more and more important to improve the management efficiency of energy-intensive IT infrastructure.
